Luisa Lam

President: Fall 2017- Spring 2018

Luisa Lam was fortunate to serve as president of AOSCM during her senior year. She graduated in 2018. Currently, she is a Program Manager in the Health Care industry. Before that, she gained valuable experience in Procurement and Project Management, working in various exciting industries like aerospace, government, technology, and finance.

She always knew she wanted to pursue a degree in Business, with a keen interest in project management. That's what led her to focus on Operations and Supply Chain during her academic journey. It provided her with the perfect tools and preparation for Project Management in various industries.

Her connection with AOSCM was a fortunate event! Professor Casey Kleindienst played a significant role in introducing her to the organization during one of his classes, and she was immediately drawn to it.

Back then when she got involved, the organization was known as AOM, and it was relatively small. She was honored to be elected as the president for the fall of 2017 and Spring of 2018. Together, with her leadership team, they worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the importance of Operations in any company and the immense value of the organization. Her team strived to educate students about the diverse career opportunities in Operations and Supply Chain.

During her time leading the association, the team discussed transitioning from AOM to AOSCM, but unfortunately, couldn't execute it. Nevertheless, she is thrilled that the subsequent leaders got the chance to make that change, embracing a more inclusive name.

Her team made a significant impact on the organization's growth, expanding it fivefold! They focused on gaining recognition and creating a valuable membership experience. Their efforts, particularly the tours organized, proved to be highly valuable for the students.

Looking ahead, she sees a bright and promising future for the organization. From what she has seen and heard, the next generation of leaders are incredibly passionate and driven, eager to build upon the foundation her leadership laid. She knows and is confident they will carry the torch with enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication, taking the organization to even greater heights.

She believes Operations is the backbone of any industry, and regardless of your major, understanding how operations work is essential. AOSCM offers fantastic opportunities for students to learn about Operations and Supply Chain Management. Not to mention the exposure to industry leaders, and hands-on learning experiences through tours and workshops, making it a truly enriching experience for all.
